Richard Atkinson, Go Pictures and Films, LLC
"Single" is Richard Atkinson's first independent documentary feature film.
Richard has lived in London, Tokyo, and New York and has traveled extensively in each region in the course of business development.
Richard’s interest in film began at the age of 17 while on an 8,000 mile overland expedition to Eastern Turkey photographing and filming the inhabitants of remote mountain villages and their customs.
In 2004, Richard collaborated with Dore Hammond forming Atkinson-Hammond Productions 1 LLC, and co-produced/co-directed “Pluck,” a 45 minute documentary short about the cultural life of New York City in the 1950’s and early 1960’s.
Also in 2005, Richard co-directed with Dore Hammond “Divine Light” - A Frank Mason Perspective - a 29 minute documentary short about the life of Frank Mason, the legendary NY Arts Student League teacher and artist.
In 2006, Richard partnered with Jane Scandurra to form Go Pictures and Films, LLC and created their first feature length documentary, “Single.”
Richard received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Leeds University, England, and has studied Film Production and Directing for Screen at New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He also studied Camera and Technology at the International Film and Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine.
